When you visit The Registry web site, you can be assured that any information you share with us will be treated confidentially and will not be disclosed to anyone outside of The Registry without your consent. For our purposes the Volkswagen Type 181 also includes the Volkswagen Type 182.

The Email addresses provided when registering, subscribing, purchasing from our Gift Shop or corresponding with the Registry will not be shared with any third parties except as authorized by you and described below.

All Registry forms ask if you do or do not object to your information being shared with local Type 181 owners for the purpose of getting together for coffee, cruises or other local Type 181 gatherings.  If you do not object, the Registry may provide your Email address to individuals near you for the purpose of local Type 181 social gatherings.

The Links Page contains hyperlinks to third party Internet sites that we do not own or operate. These include websites of our advertisers and other Volkswagen Type 181 owners and enthusiasts. You may be subject to additional terms and conditions that may apply when you use their Internet sites. You are responsible for reviewing and understanding any terms and conditions governing any third party Internet site and/or products, and your participation in such third party site and/or any products they might contain indicates your acceptance of any such terms and conditions.

Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encrypts information and keeps the data private and confidential between your machine and the Type 181 Registry. This technology makes it safe to transmit your credit card number or any personal information over the Internet. Look for the "s" after "http" in the address line and the lock in the bottom status bar. In addition, your data is stored on a removable flash drive which is never attatched when the computer is connected to the internet. This is obviously the safest means of storing information.  If it is sitting on a shelf and not connected to the computer it can't be accessed by unscrupulous Internet hackers - or anyone for that matter.
