  -Paint job in good condition, with some surface rust near the seems
  -Receipts/records for last 15+ years

  -Odometer does not work (common VW problem), so exact mileage not known but last showed ~52K miles. Have driven very little the past 2 years, probably less than 1000 miles.
  -Rust damage to both rear wheel wells and passenger side rear floor pan. I have a replacement floor pan that is included in the purchase.
  -Rear bumper is bent in and I haven't gotten around to straightening it yet. No significant damage; the previous owner had a fender bender in his parking garage.

  For Sale: 1973 volkswagen Thing. Yellow with a white safari top and a black full top with side curtains. Completely rewired with modern fuse boxes including a cd player. Does not have a heater. Body is in excellent condition with few minor imperfections where body repair was done too quickly and not straight enough (but what Thing is). Comes with two extra tires as well. New transmission with less than 2,000 miles on it. Just tuned up with new plugs and wires. Front seats have been replaced with high back style. Only problem with car is that passenger rear seat has a problem with the latch which prevents it from locking in the up position but not when it's laid down. Beautiful car.   For Sale: Original owner 73, I still have the original owner title that has yet to be transfered at the DMV. It has been garaged for life and has been under a cover for the last ten years. Everything is original and the body is in great shape other than some minor dents in the fenders and one in the front. All can be repaired by a competent body repairman. The original owner ordered this car from the factory and it has lived its life in colorado so rust is minimal.
